Training

Sturrock Power is committed to ensuring all employees are competent to carry out works to a high standard. We are continuing to invest in training for employees. Having trained 72 employees in the British Safety Council Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work in 2009, we will be continuing this training in the upcoming months.

By the end of 2010, all site based employees will have sat their ECS Health & Safety Assessments and two employees have successfully completed a PAT testing course. We have one employee trained as a Manual Handling trainer and another trained as an Abrasive Wheel setter trainer and both are delivering in house training to other employees.

A number of our apprentices have passes their FICA examinations and are now qualified electricians and we have increased the number of employees trained as first aiders.

But it doesn’t stop there! PASMA training for mobile scaffold towers and IPAF training for scissors lifts will be conducted before the end of 2010.
